Iron age settlement at Goffs Park

In 1970, during the building off Goffs Close, a late Iron Age settlement, including iron & pottery works, was discovered. A further bloomery (a type of iron smelting furnace), contemporary with the site, was found 200 metres to the north east off Newlands Road.
